DESCRIPTION:As food insecurity continues to rise, Algoma University is teaming up with the Bon Soo Winter Carnival’s Polar Bear Plunge on Feb. 10, 2024, to lead its second annual Hunger Freeze food drive.\n Donations will support the Algoma University Students’ Union (AUSU) Food Pantry, which sees approximately 212 visitors per week and provides food support to an estimated 500 people. \nThe Pantry relies on donations to continue operations. Last year, we collected the equivalent of 3,500 canned goods, and this year our goal is to exceed that. Join us in making a meaningful impact.\nEvent Details: \n\nWho: Algoma University and Sault Ste. Marie Community\nWhat: Bon Soo Polar Bear Plunge and Algoma U Hunger Freeze\nWhen: Feb. 10, 2024 – Registration begins at 12 pm\nWhere: Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre, 50 Pim St, Sault Ste. Marie, ON P6A 3G4\n\nYou can sign up to support this year’s event by filling out this form.
