Office of Research & Innovation Colloquium Series

The Office of Research and Innovation invites all faculty and students to attend Dr. Paulette Steeves’ lecture on “Pyro-epistemology: Reclaiming Humanities and Homelands”, as part of its monthly colloquium series.

Date: Friday, April 5th, 2019
Time: 3 pm
Location: Doc Brown Lounge (EW 205)

A cash bar will be available.

Pyro-epistemology cleanses academic literature of its dehumanizing discussion of First People, and creates space in academia for Indigenous voices. Decolonizing Indigenous histories and homelands through oral traditions and archaeology, this lecture will focus on research and a hemispheric-wide database that places First People in the Western Hemisphere (the Americas) for over 130,000 years.
