2nd Annual SSM Campus Community Clean-up

Spring is upon us and we are looking forward to our 2nd Annual SSM Campus Community Clean-up scheduled for May 21st and 22nd.

Last year’s event was a great team building activity that had an amazing impact on our campus grounds.

This is completely voluntary but we do hope to have a large turnout as there is much work to do. We are looking for volunteers to tend the gardens, clean up garbage and rake the debris. Staff who are interested in participating are asked to discuss with their respective management officer to ensure appropriate coverage.

Clean-up sessions will be organized in two 3-hour blocks scheduled over each of the two days.

Volunteers are asked to sign-up using the form linked here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc1l-oxuqPQ2j5k8uxInbHdABhqxrV5oLqT1xpS-qDvCc4KGQ/viewform

Volunteers will meet in the SpeakEasy at the start of each session.

At the beginning of Day 1, Elizabeth Webkamigad (Director of the Shingwauk Residential School Centre) will be giving a brief talk about the importance of the land. There will be a BBQ lunch provided on Day 2 (all participants are invited to the BBQ, even if they are only able to assist on one of the clean-up days).

Water will be available throughout both days.

In case of inclement weather, May 23rd and 24th have been set as provisional rain days.

Thanks in advance to all our volunteers. With convocation just around the corner, I know our collective efforts will undoubtedly leave a positive impression with all who visit our campus over the coming weeks.
