Algoma U Commemorates National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (NDTR). This year, Algoma University will commemorate this significant day on Monday, September 30, on our Sault Ste. Marie and Timmins campuses, and Thursday, September 26, on our Brampton campus.
As we hold space to honour and commemorate the missing children and Survivors of Residential Schools, we invite members of the Algoma University community, including students, faculty, staff, and beyond, to actively participate in these opportunities as a significant part of your personal and professional reconciliation efforts. While classes will continue as scheduled, students are encouraged to attend and engage in these meaningful events.
Events include The Reclaiming Shingwauk Hall Exhibit (Sault Ste. Marie), the unveiling of the Wawanosh Memorial (Sault Ste. Marie), a Panel Discussion on Economic Reconciliation followed by a Q and A (Brampton), an Orange Shirt Beading Workshop (Timmins), a Candlelight vigil on our Sault Ste. Marie campus, partner events, and more. Full agendas are linked below, including details on how to join.
