Come celebrate the release of Algoma U Music Faculty Andree-Ann Deschenes new piano album “Wanderings” on January 25th, 2024. The event will include a performance of selected excerpts from the album, as well as an exclusive screening of a short film directed by Dan Nystedt documenting the entire process behind the project.

“Wanderings” is a unique musical endeavour, featuring newly written concert piano pieces by Cassio Vianna, Jasnam Daya Singh, Bianca Gismonti, Jovino Santos Neto, Kerry Politzer, Carmen Sandim and André Mehmari, commissioned by Deschenes herself. The result is a collection of bespoke piano pieces incorporating Classical, Jazz, and Brazilian aesthetics in a fresh and exciting way. These compositions received a successful world premiere performance at The Loft in May 2023, and the album was recorded at The Loft Studio in June and July 2023. “Wanderings” will be the first full commercially available album coming out of the studio.
