Our location is perfect for students – a quick five-minute bus ride (or 30-minute walk) will take you anywhere you need to go within the city’s limits.
Sault Ste. City Transit
The Sault Ste. Marie city bus terminal is located at the corner of Queen Street and Dennis Street in the downtown. For route and fare information please click here. Unlike at other cities, our bus routes travel back to the terminal every hour, ensuring that no matter where you venture, all routes lead back to the downtown. This helps ensure you never get lost and always know where you will end up. Plus, three bus routes have direct stops at our Algoma U campus: Riverside, Second Line, and Sault College.
John Roswell Hub Trail
Recently, Algoma University became home to one of the John Roswell Hub Trail access points. The Hub trail is a 25-kilometre paved system which connects all major destinations in Sault Ste. Marie together. You can walk, bike, jog, run, or rollerblade the system. This makes travel easier and more scenic. For more information, or for a Hub Trail map, please visit the City of Sault Ste. Porter Airlines
Porter Airlines has become one of the most affordable travel options for our out-of-town students and families. The Sault Ste. Marie (YAM) Airport is located 20 minutes from campus at 475 Airport Road. Since 2011, Porter Airlines has been offering service to Sault Ste. Marie, and is used by our students and their families weekly.
