New incoming students for the Spring 2024 semester on the Sault Ste. Marie campus are eligible to take part in our Passport to Orientation program, where students scan QR codes while participating in Orientation events to enter for a chance to win a brand new laptop. Students must be registered for Orientation in order to participate. Questions? Reach out to the Student Life Team or your Orientation Ambassador to learn more.

New incoming students for the Spring 2024 semester on all campuses are required to complete mandatory virtual orientation training, which can be accessed via the Student Portal. Students who complete the quiz and score over 60 per cent will be entered for a chance to win a $1,000 bursary towards their education.

  1. Access your student portal. The link to do this is in the Welcome email you received after accepting your offer (it was sent to your personal email). If already done, go to the next step.
    1. Don’t have the Welcome email?  Go to students.algomau.ca and click on “Having Problems Logging In?”. This self-serve option will help you out.
  2. Next, access your algomau.ca email address (set this as your default Gmail account). You can access your email from your student portal or at gmail.com.

Orientation typically takes place just before the first day of classes, with some Orientation sessions happening throughout the first week of classes as well. To make sure you don’t miss out on anything, keep an eye on your Algoma U email, or click through the schedules above!
