(SAULT STE. MARIE, ON – November 18, 2016): Algoma University and the Fine Arts and Music Department are pleased to welcome Amy Fung for an upcoming art writer’s talk and screening of “In Kingdom Come”, first screened at The Images Festival in Toronto.
Amy Fung is a roaming cultural commentator, arts writer, and events/exhibition organizer. Originally from Hong Kong, Fung currently resides in Toronto. She holds an MA in English Literature and Film Studies from the University of Alberta with a focus on Deleuzian film theory and twentieth-century poetics and creative non-fiction. In 2014, she was appointed Artistic Director of The Images Festival and currently sits on the Board of Directors for Art Metropole. She is a founding and current member of MICE Magazine. Her interests involve identity politics, social engagements, and a sense of place, and her writings and exhibitions have been on display throughout Europe and North America.
Fung will be presenting a Curator/Art Writer’s Talk on November 23rd at 7:30m in room 114 at the Machine Shop at 83 Huron Street.
A Film Festival Screening of “In Kingdom Come” will be on November 24th at 8:00pm at 180 Projects at 180 Gore Street.
