Star Summer Transition Program

WHAT IS STAR? The STAR (Students Taking Academic Responsibility) Summer Transition Program is a FREE 3-day program for university bound students. Since many challenges are faced as students make the move from high school to university, STAR is designed to help ease this transition and is especially beneficial for students with learning disabilities.

Participating in this program will help students: learn about different learning strategies, become familiar with assistive technology, learn concrete tools and resources to help, and understand what professors expect by sitting in on mock lectures conducted by university profs.

In the STAR program, students are invited to stay in residence, at no charge to them, to participate in the total university experience. All meals and social events are also included in the program.

This year, STAR will be taking place from July 9-11.
