Hunger Freeze Food Drive

The Algoma University Hunger Freeze Food Drive returns as part of the 2026 Bon Soo Winter Carnival, inviting university leadership, staff, students, and community members to brave the cold in support of local food pantries—including the Algoma University Students’ Union (AUSU) Food Pantry.
There are two ways to help:

As fundraising milestones are reached, registered plungers will take the plunge—helping raise awareness about food insecurity and inspiring community action. The 2026 goal is $5,000 or the equivalent in non-perishable food donations.

Where: Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre

When: February 21, 2026 — Registration opens at 11:00 a.m.; Hunger Freeze Plunge begins at approximately 1:00 p.m.
Call to Action: Join the Plunge (Fundraise + Participate)

Community members are encouraged to register as a plunger and help us reach our fundraising goal.

If you’re not plunging, you can still make a big impact by donating:
