Your Donations Stand Behind Every Success
AUSU has celebrated remarkable milestones this year, from launching mental health workshops to organizing career development programs and expanding student support services across campuses. These initiatives have empowered students to excel academically and build lasting connections. But behind this success and each student
supported along the way stands a community of generous donors.
Access to essential funding like scholarships, bursaries, and wellness resources has been pivotal in bringing these achievements to life, ensuring that students have what they need to succeed. Invest in success – Donate Now.

“As an international student from India pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in
Psychology (Honours), I have always believed that education has the power to
transform lives. However, studying in a new country comes with many challenges
financial, emotional, and academic. Your generosity has not only lightened my
financial burden but has also given me a renewed sense of motivation and
confidence in my journey.
Because of your support, I can focus on what truly matters - learning, growing,
and preparing for a fulfilling career in psychology. This scholarship is not
just financial assistance; it is a reminder that there are people who believe
in my potential and in the power of education to change lives.
Your kindness inspires me, and one day, I hope to pay it forward by supporting
students who, like me, dream of making a difference. Thank you for being part
of my journey and for making dreams possible.”

“I want to extend my sincere gratitude for being awarded the Dr. J. MacBain
Cameron Memorial Fund Continuing Scholarship. As I approach the end of my
undergraduate studies at Algoma University, this scholarship has provided
much-needed financial relief and has reaffirmed my commitment to furthering my
education. External funding from this scholarship is essential in helping me
achieve my academic and career aspirations. With this support, I can
confidently move forward in my plans to pursue a graduate certificate, knowing
that the generosity of donors has helped pave the way. Scholarships like this
not only reduce financial stress but also serve as motivation, reminding
students that our hard work is recognized and valued. Thank you for your
generosity and for making a lasting impact on students’ lives.”

“I am truly grateful and honoured for the Rose Nolan Memorial Scholarship. I am
an Anishinabe Kwe from Biigtigong Nishnaabeg. I am a mother, daughter, auntie,
sister, niece, cousin, friend, helper, student and also a cycle breaker. I
raise my 2 daughters and in the recent years my great niece as well. I take my
roles in life serious, for I am fortunate enough to know what it had to take
for my ancestors, granny, Shomie, mom,dad and the rest of my loved ones for me
to be where I am in life. I understand the hardships that had to be endured for
me and most importantly my girls and future generations. While there is
intergenerational trauma we must never forget that there is intergenerational
healing. That is what I strive for in my daily living. This award allows me to
do that, it helps with minimizing stress and worries, I am able to focus
precious time and energy a little bit more to those that matter the most.
So with the fullness of my heart please accept my Chi-Miigwetch from myself and
my family.”

“Being an international student, the
financial gap created by currency differences can be significant, making any
form of support truly life-changing. I am deeply grateful to the generous
donors of Algoma University, whose kindness and contributions have brought
immense joy, hope, and confidence to students like me.
Receiving the Chancellor’s Award, which
provides $5,000 annually, has been more than just financial assistance—it has
been a source of motivation and reassurance, allowing me to confidently pursue
my Honours degree. This support has strengthened my belief in my academic
journey and future aspirations.
From the bottom of my heart, I sincerely
thank the donors for their generosity. Your contributions are not just helping
students financially but also empowering us to dream bigger and strive for
excellence.”

“I am truly honored and deeply grateful to be a recipient of this generous
$5,000 scholarship for my Master of Computer Science program at Algoma
University. Your support has not only eased the financial burden of my
education but has also given me the freedom to fully focus on my studies and
professional growth.
This scholarship is more than just financial assistance—it is a stepping stone
toward achieving my dreams. It enables me to dive deeper into advanced
computing concepts, refine my expertise in software development and artificial
intelligence, and position myself for a meaningful career in the tech industry.
Knowing that someone believes in my potential is both humbling and incredibly
motivating.
Your generosity is a powerful reminder of how much donations matter. They don’t
just fund education; they transform lives.”

“I am very grateful for all of the student awards and
bursaries I have received this academic year! Special thanks to the individuals
and organizations behind the John Roswell, M.Eng., P.Eng.,P.E Bursary Award,
Algoma Highlands Conservancy Scholarship, Dr. Lou & Mae Lukenda Award and
Sar-Gin Development Ltd. Student Award! These funds have greatly impacted my
school year! I am an athlete on the Algoma University Women’s basketball team,
and these scholarships have allowed me to pursue both my academic and athletic
goals. Being part of the Thunderbirds Varsity Athletics has allowed me the opportunity to participate
in a unique way, in community events (local games) and represent Algoma at a
provincial level (OUA). This would not be possible to do without finances for
school tuition, which the various awards I have received have helped to take
care of! Academically, I hope to pursue a doctorate in the health care field,
either an M.D, an N.D or C.D, after graduating from Algoma.”
