SAULT STE. MARIE, ON – February 15, 2017): Algoma University invites you to Stephen Mallinger, live in recital, on Sunday, February 19th at 3:00pm in the Shingwauk Auditorium.
Stephen Mallinger is the Music Director of the Algoma Festival Choir, organist and choirmaster of St. Luke’s Cathedral, as well as an instructor of piano, organ, and theory at the Algoma Conservatory of Music and Algoma U. Mallinger performs regularly as a soloist and with his wife, violinist Anya Mallinger. He has performed globally, including in North America, the United Kingdom, and in Europe. Mallinger has conducted and been the Music Director of Musical Comedy Guild musical theatre productions and has performed at various special occasions, including the 30th anniversary of the shipwreck of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald and the dedication service of Governor General David Johnston.
Mallinger will be performing Robert Schumann’s “Scenes from a Childhood”, Sergi Rachmaniov’s “Etudes-Tableaux” and “Two Preludes”, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “K.333”
Admission to the recital is by donation, with all proceeds going to support Algoma U’s Music Program.
