Trick or Treat at Algoma U’s “Spooktacular Campus”

(SAULT STE. MARIE, ON – October 19, 2016): For the fourth year in a row, Algoma University is opening its doors to community members in the annual Algoma U Community Trick or Treat for the United Way on Friday, October 28th from 3:00-7:00pm.

Families are encouraged to dress in costume and trick or treat around the “Spooktacular Campus”, where they will have the opportunity to fill their bags with goodies and treats.  Participants will start at Door W (the door located at the bottom floor of the Wishart Library – behind the West Wing sign – near the entrance to the main parking lot), where they will receive a map to guide them through the campus to over 20 decorated stations.

“This is a great opportunity for families with young children to enjoy Hallowe’en in a safe and warm setting,” said Dr. Craig Chamberlin, President and Vice Chancellor of Algoma University. “It’s also a great opportunity for everyone to show their support for both the University and the United Way. I encourage families to take part in this unique event, where they can get acquainted with our beautiful campus, and also give back to an organization that helps so many in our community.”

Trick or treaters should note that this event is open only to children 12 and under who are accompanied by adult supervision. Entry to the event is by monetary donation, with proceeds going to the University’s United Way campaign. After trick or treating, participants are invited to enjoy refreshments in the Speakeasy. For only $2.00, participants can enjoy a hot dog or pizza by the slice and a drink.

Free parking will be provided to all participants.
