Pride month began in June 1969 to mark the anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising in New York City, where 2SLGBTQQIPA+ people fought against police harassment and discriminatory laws. In June cities all around the world celebrate Pride to acknowledge the 2SLGBTQQIPA+community and to stand up against discrimination and violence toward 2SLGBTQQIPA+ people.
Indigenous History Month is a time for all in Canada to reflect upon our responsibilities as treaty people. It is also a time to learn about the histories, cultures, contributions, and strength of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.

SAULT STE. MARIE – The Ontario government is transforming virtual learning by investing $870,520 in eight innovative projects at Algoma University and Sault College.
Researchers at Lakehead University, Algoma University, the University of Minnesota Duluth, the Michigan Technical University, and community partners of the Lake Superior Labs Network have received more than $135,000 from Environment and Climate Change Canada to create the Lake Superior Climate Action Field School.
