As we head into a well-deserved holiday season break, we wanted to share the following campus closure and service access reminders.

Unless otherwise listed, all Algoma University facilities, administrative and faculty offices in Sault Ste. Marie, Brampton and Timmins will be closed for the holiday season at the end of the business day on Friday, December 23rd, 2022 at 4:00 PM.

Facilities will reopen with regular hours on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023. 

Winter 2023 classes commence on Monday, January 9th, 2023.

Sault Ste. Marie Campus:

Arthur A. Wishart Library

• Friday, December 23: OPEN 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
• Saturday, December 24 to Monday, January 2: CLOSED
• Tuesday, January 3 to Friday, January 6: OPEN 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
• Saturday & Sunday, January 7 & 8: OPEN 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Regular hours commence Monday, January 9th from 8:30 AM to 10:00 PM

Construction Zone – North Wing 200 Level Corridor Between Tim Hortons and the Link

Renovation in the corridor will require the following access protocol:

• Corridor: Wednesday, December 21 to Wednesday, January 11 : CLOSED
• “Z” door: Wednesday, December 21 to Sunday, January 8: CLOSED
• “Z” door: Monday, January 9 to Wednesday, January 11: OPEN for NW200 Class access only
• “Z” door: Thursday, January 12: OPEN
• “G” door: Wednesday, December 21 to Wednesday, January 11: Contractor access only
• “A”, “U”, & “W” doors: OPEN to provide access to the rest of the West Wing, North Wing, Shingwauk Hall, and the East Wing  

George Leach Centre (GLC)

Mail Service

• University mail services will stop on Friday, December 23 at 3:00 PM and resume on Tuesday, January 3, at 9 AM.

Security 

• SSM Campus security is available at all times (705-949-2301, ext. 4444) during the holiday period.  

Brampton Campus:

The Brampton campus will be closed from December 23 at 4 PM until January
3 at 9 AM. Computer lab information is available below.
