My name is Emily Faubert. I’m currently in my last year of the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology program at Algoma University, and I am from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. I graduated from St. Mary’s College in 2014.
When I started working at Algoma University’s Shingwauk Residential Schools Centre (SRSC), I was excited for a new opportunity. I was thrilled to be working in a community-based archive and loved the idea of getting to spend every day immersed in history.
When I took the plunge and decided to begin my undergraduate degree at Algoma University I wasn’t sure what to expect. Moving from Toronto to Sault Ste. Marie as a lone 19-year-old was certainly a daunting adventure;
