(TIMMINS, ON – May 29, 2017): Algoma University celebrated the academic accomplishments of its graduating students from Algoma U at Timmins on Friday at the Northern College Spring 2017 Convocation Ceremony.
Acting President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Celia Ross conferred degrees on students who successfully completed the requirements of the Honours Bachelor of Social Work and Bachelor of Arts in Community Development programs offered in Timmins.
“Our programs in Timmins are a clear reflection of Algoma’s mandate to support access to undergraduate education in Northern Ontario,” said Dr. Ross. “Some of Algoma’s graduates decide to attend our larger convocation ceremony in Sault Ste. Marie in June, but we were in Timmins with graduates last Friday who chose to celebrate there with family and friends. I am delighted to have participated in the Northern College convocation ceremony and to have shared as a partner in the celebration of success of both Northern College and Algoma University students”.
Currently, over 40 undergraduate students are studying at Algoma U at Timmins.
