Algoma University proudly celebrated the achievements of its Fall Class of 2025 with a convocation ceremony held at the Porcupine Dante Club in Timmins. Graduates, faculty, families, friends and community members gathered to mark this important milestone.
The evening featured the formal presentation of degrees, remarks from university leadership, and the recognition of student achievements across multiple disciplines.
“Convocation is a moment of immense pride for our graduates, their families, their friends, and the entire Algoma University community,” said Interim President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sheila Embleton. “Our Timmins graduates embody the resilience, leadership, and commitment to service that uniquely prepare them to give back to their communities here in the North, helping to meet local needs and strengthen the region’s future.”
The celebration in Timmins represents one of several events taking place across Algoma University’s campuses and partner sites this fall. Later this month, Algoma University will join with Oshki-Pimache-O-Win: The Wenjack Education Institute to celebrate graduates of the Bachelor of Social Work program, delivered in partnership with Algoma University. This additional milestone will honour the success of learners in the North and the shared commitment of both institutions to supporting Anishinaabe students and building capacity in First Nation communities.
