(BRAMPTON, ON – June 21, 2024): This week, the Algoma University community celebrated the Brampton class of 2024 in three convocation ceremonies.
The ceremonies featured performances by the Eagle Flight Singers and Piper Elizabeth Sheridan, adding a unique and heartfelt touch to the event. The audience was also inspired by speeches from three outstanding student speakers who shared their experiences and aspirations.
The Algoma University Award for Excellence in Teaching was presented to Kiddnan Kobindarajah, PhD, who was recognized for his innovative teaching methods, commitment to student success, and dedication to advancing the field of mathematics.
“As we celebrate the achievements of our graduates, we are reminded of the rigorous academic standards and environment of honesty, trust, fairness, and respect that these students have thrived in,†said President and Vice-chancellor Asima Vezina, PhD. “Our graduates leave Algoma U not only with knowledge and skills but with the principles that will guide them to make a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond. I am extremely proud of the Class of 2024 – congratulations, Thunderbirds!â€
