Algoma University School of Social Work Partners with Oshki-Wenjack Education Institute

Pathway program for Indigenous students starts in May 2023

(SAULT STE. MARIE, ON- Monday, May 29, 2023): On May 27, 2023, the Algoma University School of Social Work and  Oshki-Wenjack Education Institute welcomed the first cohort of Indigenous students in the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program that will be delivered from June-August in Thunder Bay, Ontario at the Oshki campus. 

The School of Social Work has worked closely with Oshki-Wenjack to pursue the pathway forward for Indigenous students who graduated with their Social Service Worker- Indigenous Specialization Diploma,  Indigenous Wellness Addictions and Prevention Diploma, and other programs. Through this collaboration, graduates of the above-mentioned programs can begin studies at Algoma University in the Bachelor of Social Work Program.
