Algoma University invites the public to participate in a free lecture series focusing on the evolving world of artificial intelligence (AI) and accessibility. 

Dr. Nicola Shaw and guests Kevin Vinsen and Meryl Evans will lead this week’s Speaker Series, where speakers explore three very different and compelling topics. 

Speaker Series event: Aliens! 

What: Join Professor Kevin Vinsen, Senior Research Fellow at the International

Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) in Western Australia, as he explores the captivating scientific endeavour of the search for extraterrestrial life. This talk explores the science, covering the conditions required for life, potential habitats, the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI), signal detection strategies, space exploration’s role, ethics, and recent missions. Join Algoma U’s speaker series on a journey through the profound implications of finding aliens for our understanding of the universe.
