THUNDERBIRD WRESTLING TEAM HEADS TO OUA CHAMPIONSHIPS HOSTED BY THE GUELPH GRYPHONS

The Algoma Wrestling team will be heading to Guelph, Ontario this upcoming weekend to compete in the OUA Wrestling Championships hosted by the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday, February 1st. The Thunderbird Men’s Wrestling team is currently ranked 10th in the nation by U Sports.   Stephen Kreyenbuhl is ranked 5th at the 120 kg category, Brody Collison is ranked 4th at 54 kg and Bryce Davis is ranked 1st at 68 kg. Good Luck to all of our wrestlers.

Head Coach of the Algoma Wrestling Team Trevor Manchester says: “This year has been a great success for our small wrestling program.  This weekend will be a culmination of our student-athletes dedication and hard work.  Having our men’s team consistently ranked in the top 10 has instilled a drive in our athletes to continue to better our results and upset some of the bigger programs.  Having 5 wrestlers ranked in the top 6 in Canada individually throughout the year has shown that our wrestlers can compete with the best in the country.”
