The play opens on February 21st, 2020, in the Shingwauk Auditorium.

Each year, the Algoma University Thunderbirds Basketball program participates in ‘Shoot for the Cure’; an awareness and fundraising campaign for the Canadian Cancer Society. For an entire weekend, admission to both Men’s and Women’s games are by donation.
Three Thunderbird Wrestlers reached the podium at the OUA Wrestling Championships hosted by the University of Guelph on Saturday, February 1st. Brody Collison won a Gold in the men’s 54 kg category, Emily Duchesne won Bronze in the women’s 51 kg category and Bryce Davis also won Bronze in the men’s 68 kg category.

Algoma University’s Shingwauk Residential Schools Centre (SRSC) was recognized this evening by the City of Sault Ste. Marie and Mayor Christian Provenzano with a Municipal Heritage Award for their impressive work to support truth and reconciliation efforts as well the preservation of the legacy of Indian Residential Schools and the Survivor community.
The Algoma Wrestling team will be heading to Guelph, Ontario this upcoming weekend to compete in the OUA Wrestling Championships hosted by the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday, February 1st. The Thunderbird Men’s Wrestling team is currently ranked 10th in the nation by U Sports.

On January 23rd, 2020 the Algoma University Board of Governors were informed that for the first time ever, overall enrolment across campus locations in Brampton, Sault Ste. Marie and Timmins has exceeded 2000 full-time equivalent students.
On January 22, 2020, the Algoma University community gathered to celebrate the academic achievements of its students at the 26th Annual Algoma University Student Awards at The Pavilion at Algoma’s Water Tower Inn from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm.
