MARIE, ON – May 22, 2019): As an exciting next step in the ongoing efforts of Algoma University to increase understanding of the Residential School experience, the Shingwauk Residential Schools Centre has been granted funding from the Virtual Exhibits Investment Program of the Virtual Museum of Canada (VMC) at the Canadian Museum of History in the amount of $248,000 for the project entitled “Virtually Reclaiming Shingwauk Hall”.

Local Firm Hired to Lead Development of Campus Master Plan & Renovation Projects

Yesterday evening, Algoma University’s Board of Governors approved a $38 million operating budget for the 2019-20 fiscal year.  The outcomes-based budget projects a small surplus and aligns with the new tuition framework introduced by the provincial government in January.
