Algoma University’s Faculty of Business and Economics (FoBE) is at the forefront of innovating business education and promoting financial inclusivity.
Following the success of the 2023 Administrative Science Association of Canada (ASAC) conference, in which the FoBE hosted a groundbreaking symposium titled “The State of Indigenization and Decolonization in Canadian Business Schools,” the School continues to carry forward the momentum with their 2024 business case study research.
One of FoBE’s 2024 business case studies will be presented at ASAC in collaboration with KreditOne, a leading Canadian digital lending platform. The case examines the challenges and opportunities of a Brampton-based high-tech enterprise in a business case study titled “KreditOne: A Canadian Digital Lending Platform’s International Expansion,” focused on immigrant entrepreneurs helping Brampton startup companies reach international markets.
“The ongoing success of our business case study research series demonstrates our dedication to driving positive change within business education,” shared Professor and Dean Dr. William Wei. “We are proud in our pursuit of cultivating inclusive, culturally attuned learning environments and fostering cross-cultural synergies between international newcomers and Indigenous communities.”
Upon completion of this case study, business students will gain valuable insights, including understanding the development of the digital lending market, analyzing the motivation for international entrepreneurship, clarifying the basis for selecting international target markets for enterprises and analyzing the potential challenges and strategies that enterprises may face in global entrepreneurship.
These efforts underscore Algoma University’s commitment to fostering inclusive and culturally responsive learning environments within academic institutions. Together, they are poised to redefine the future of digital lending and business education on a global scale.
“Thanks to Algoma University and its Faculty of Business and Economics, KreditOne will be featured as a case study at the 2024 ASAC conference,” shared Ms. Marina Wei, CEO of KreditOne. “We look forward to receiving further advice from business professors at Algoma University. It is such a great opportunity for an immigrant high-tech digital startup from Brampton to reach out to Indian and Mexican digital lending markets.”
