Canada Homestay Network
Algoma University is delighted to announce that we have partnered with Canada Homestay Network to provide our students with a unique experience. Through this partnership, students will have the opportunity to acclimate themselves to Canadian culture by living with a Canadian host family.

This is a unique accommodation experience designed to help students learn and integrate into Canadian culture. We encourage all students interested in the Homestay program to learn more before applying.

Just like any other member of the family, you will be expected to keep your bedroom clean and tidy and clean up after yourself in the kitchen and around the house.
Your experience in a homestay will depend on your own mindset. Come with an open mind: be friendly, give people the benefit of the doubt, and be ready to accept the ways in which Canada and the people you meet here are different and unique- in the very same way you would like people to appreciate you.
These experiences aren’t solely for students, host families are always looking to learn more about you, your culture and the experience that makes you unique. Don’t be shy to share your story.
