(SAULT STE. MARIE, ON – September 26, 2018): Algoma University is pleased to announce that Colin Wilson will fill the role of Director of Strategic Advancement.
As a key member of the University’s leadership team, Wilson will work closely with the President and Vice-Chancellor on operational matters, stakeholder relations, and special projects of importance to the University, including the coordination and processing of funding proposals and grant applications.
“We are pleased to welcome Colin to the leadership team at Algoma University,” said President and Vice-Chancellor, Asima Vezina. “Colin brings to Algoma a wealth of knowledge and expertise in community and economic development, grant writing, budgeting, and resource management that will help us achieve our strategic goals. We look forward to working with him in this new capacity.”
Wilson comes to Algoma from Searchmont Ski Association Inc., where he served as the General Manager of the resort for the past three years. In this role, he led revitalization efforts of the hill, oversaw the successful completion of several key infrastructure projects, and developed numerous community partnerships to support the ongoing development of the resort. Prior to his tenure at Searchmont, Wilson served as Program Manager of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, where he supported not-for-profit organizations, rural, and First Nations communities in the execution of grants for a range of community-driven projects.

Wilson will start his new role with Algoma University on October 1, 2018.
