(BRAMPTON/SAULT STE. MARIE, TIMMINS- November 23, 2022): The Department of Advancement and Alumni Affairs at Algoma University is excited to share that, for the first time in the history of Algoma U, the University will be participating in the Giving Tuesday movement.
What is Giving Tuesday? Giving Tuesday is a global movement aimed to unleash the power of giving and generosity. Giving Tuesday started with a simple idea to be a counterpoint to the consumerism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
On Giving Tuesday, people and communities around the world celebrate the impact of giving by supporting causes close to their hearts. Algoma University is celebrating this significant day by helping who matters most – our students in need. On Tuesday, November 29th, help us kick off the giving season by making a difference in the lives of Algoma University Thunderbirds through the newly established Student Relief Fund.
This fund will support students with transportation and housing needs, childcare support, technology needs, and financial support due to job loss while seeking out new employment as well as food costs. This Giving Tuesday, please consider making a generous gift to the Student Relief Fund to help ensure our students’ success.
Your gift will make a direct impact on the lives of students who may not otherwise be able to carry on with their studies because of the obstacles they are facing. Thank you for your kind consideration of supporting this important cause. Please click here to donate.
