The university will consider for admission mature students whose previous school performance or recent work record suggests a strong possibility for academic success.

Applicants who do not qualify for admission under standard admission requirements may be considered for admission if they:

• are 20-59 years of age by the end of the calendar year to which they are applying (over 60? Visit our Senior Students section for more information).
• have been away from secondary or post-secondary school for a minimum of 1 year
• are a Canadian citizen or Permanent resident

Please note admission to certain degree programs has specific course prerequisites that must be met before admission will be granted. Please refer to the Programs and Admissions Requirement chart in the Academic Calendar.

To enroll full-time in Algoma University for September admission, you must apply via the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC). You can apply online at www.ouac.on.ca

Declare all academic history, including highschools, colleges, and universities you currently attend and have previously attended, including those you withdrew from prior to the completion of a credential.

• Complete the Algoma U application.
• Send official transcripts (high school, college, and university if applicable).
• Send all Mature Student documents.
• Send non-refundable $70 (CDN funds) application fee payable to Algoma U.
