Science Olympics
Science North in partnership with Algoma University is excited to offer an action-packed experience for secondary schools. The seventh annual Science Olympics will provide the opportunity for teams of students from grades 9 to 12 to experience science challenges presented as a competition between multiple schools. Science Olympics aims to inspire interest and foster inquisition in science, engineering, and technology. It is a series of problem solving activities that provide fun hands-on learning and promote critical thinking processes. Students will apply their knowledge of science in creative ways and develop their problem solving, teamwork and collaboration skills. New in 2018 special coding challenges will be included and will highlight the importance of coding, technology and science, and also aim to inspire interest and increase the digital literacy among secondary school students.
