CEO of eCampus Ontario to visit Algoma U
On March 25, David Porter, Chief Executive Officer of eCampus Ontario, will be spending the day at Algoma U. eCampus Ontario is the primary face of the Ontario Online Learning Consortium (OOLC), a not-for-profit corporation whose membership is composed of all publicly-funded colleges and universities in Ontario. Porter is a long-time advocate for the benefits of adapting new technology to deliver educational opportunities, and has been involved in open and distance learning since the 1990s, at both the K-12 and higher education levels.
While David Porter is with us, he will be meeting with senior administration and the eLearning Task Force. As well, he will help us to kick off a three-year eLearning initiative at Algoma by addressing faculty and others at lunchtime in the Doc Brown and participating in the grand opening of the eLearning Centre, which will showcase the Computer Science Bridge Program, which was supported with funding from eCampus Ontario.
