The Anishinaabe Academic Resource Centre will be hosting the 2024 Moose Hide Campaign on Friday, May 10th from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
The Moose Hide Campaign is a grassroots movement to incite ongoing commitments and actions of Indigenous and non-Indigenous men and boys to stand up against violence towards women and children. The campaign is grounded in Indigenous ceremony and traditional ways of learning and healing.
The event will commence with an opening address by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, followed by keynote presentations from Cory McLeod (Sault Ste. Marie Indigenous Friendship Centre) and Dan Jennings (Caitlin’s Heard & Angie’s Angels). Lunch and Information Booths will be available, along with a Sharing Circle facilitated by Elder Barb Nolan and a campaign walk to Bellevue Park at 2:00 PM.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own signs for the campaign walk; however, signs will also be available onsite.
Furthermore, individuals who attend the event or like and share this event post will be entered into a door prize draw.
