Hayes-Jenkinson Lecture — “Statue Wars: History, Identity, and Politics in Post-TRC Canada”

The featured speaker, James Daschuk, is an Associate Professor at the University of Regina, and author of the award-winning book Clearing the Plains: Disease, Politics of Starvation, and the Loss of Indigenous Life. Prof. Daschuk and his work have received ample attention by Canadian media in recent years as the legacy of Prime Minister John A. Macdonald has undergone public scrutiny and re-evaluation.
