Public Lecture Featuring Winnie Yeung and Abu Bakr Al Rabeeah
The English department’s Algoma Reads course run by Dr. Alice Ridout will be hosting Winnie Yeung, ESL Teacher and co-author with her student, Abu Bakr Al Rabeeah. Winnie and Abu’s novel, Homes, was a finalist of 2019’s CBC Reads. Winnie and Abu will be giving a public lecture on Tuesday, November 12th from 5:30 pm to 7 pm in Algoma University’s Doc Brown lounge, located in room 205 of the East Wing. The event is ‘pay what you can’ and beverages will be provided. Everyone is welcome! Come out and join Algoma University in highlighting the importance of reading and celebrating Canadian writers and their incredibly moving stories.
