Making an impactful start in the tech world

AlgomaU Computer Science alumnus Connor Flood will be kicking off the year with a talk on important technical skills, co-op/internships, side projects, grad school, preparing for interviews, industry life, and strategies for success in the tech world.

Connor Flood graduated from Algoma University in 2015 with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Computer Science before pursuing a Master of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo. While at Algoma, Connor designed and implemented a program to perform mathematical proofs using the principle of mathematical induction which landed him an internship at Wolfram Alpha. After imparting his wisdom on us, Connor is off to California where he will be working at Facebook.

Join us at 7pm on Tuesday, September 5th in the Speakeasy at Algoma University. Doors open at 6:30pm — setup help is appreciated! The event will wrap up sometime between 8:00 and 8:30pm.

Anyone is welcome to attend but Computer Science students will get the most out of the talk. There is no cost and no RSVP required.

Free pizza and refreshments will be provided.

We have some ACSC shirts that will be available for purchase at the event for $15.

Happy hacking from the Algoma Computer Science Club.
