Algoma University is pleased to host world-renowned Bulgarian pianist Ivo Kaltchev in concert for “Preludes and Pictures”, on June 6 at 7:30pm in the Sault Community Theatre Centre.

Kaltchev has enjoyed a successful career as a recitalist, soloist, chamber musician, and recording artist. He has performed at musical centres and been a guest artist in music festivals around the world. Recent highlights from his solo recitals include performances with EOS Orchestra in Alice Tully Hall, concert tours in Asia, and complete solo piano works of Claude Debussy. He holds degrees and diplomas from Yale University, Rutgers University, Sofia Academy of Music, and Liszt Hochschule fur Musik. Kaltchev is currently a Professor of Piano and Head of the Piano Division at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.

Kaltchev’s “Preludes and Pictures” will include solo piano performances by Debussy, George Gershwin, and Modest Mussorgsky.
