The 2018 Algoma University John R. Rhodes Scholarship Dinner will take place on the evening of Wednesday, October 17th at The Water Tower Inn. This year’s dinner will honour the Hollingsworth family.

Friends, family, and community supporters gathered last night for Algoma University’s annual John R. Rhodes Scholarship Dinner at the Water Tower Inn, raising $35,000 for the University’s John R. Rhodes Scholarship.

The 2017 Algoma University John R. Rhodes Scholarship Dinner will take place on Thursday, October 26th at The Water Tower Inn at 6:00pm.  This year’s dinner will honour Dr. Frank S. Sarlo.

(SAULT STE. MARIE, ON – November 4, 2022): Last evening, the 20th anniversary Algoma University John R. Rhodes Scholarship Dinner was held in person for the first time since 2019 at The Water Tower Inn in Sault Ste.

The John R. Rhodes Scholarship was established in 1979 through generous donations from friends and family of the late John Rhodes. Traditionally, this award is presented at an in-person event honouring the memory of John Rhodes while raising additional funds to support the continued offering of this prestigious scholarship to students at Algoma University.

(SAULT STE. MARIE, ON; December 3, 2020): As part of Algoma University’s ongoing efforts to provide much needed financial support to outstanding students, the John R. Rhodes Scholarship Planning Committee came up with a unique way to ensure this important annual fundraising event was able to proceed. 

On October 23rd, the 2019 Algoma University John R. Rhodes Scholarship Dinner took place at The Water Tower Inn, raising $42,000 to support the ongoing issuance of this annual award. This year’s dinner honoured the tremendous contribution the McDougall family has made to our community while recognizing this year’s recipient of the John R.
