Quality Assurance

Internationally, there is a move towards quality assurance processes and standards that facilitate student mobility and international acceptance of degrees. The last decade has seen a marked shift to learning outcome approaches in university education, most notably in countries in the European Union and Australia. It is in this context that the Council of Ontario Universities (COU) has developed the Quality Assurance Framework for publicly-funded universities in Ontario.

Algoma University is committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality in its academic programming. This section is used to share information on quality assurance as it relates to university programming and to provide the necessary templates and resources as we work towards meeting and/or exceeding the standards of the Quality Assurance Framework. Algoma University develops and reviews its academic programming using an outcomes-based paradigm and with adherence to the rigorous standards of the Ontario Universities Council on Quality Assurance (Quality Council).

Please contact the Quality Assurance Office at qualityassuranceoffice@algomau.ca, if you have any questions.
